Sweden is a Nordic country on the Scandinavian Peninsula in northern Europe. It has land borders with Norway to the west and Finland to the northwest. It has maritime borders with Denmark, Germany and Poland in the south; Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia to the east. It is connected with Denmark by a tunnel-bridge across the Oresund.
Sweden is the 55th largest country in the world and the fifth largest in Europe. Sweden has 25 provinces, and while these provinces serve no political purpose, they play an important role in self-identification for the Swedish people. About 15% of Sweden is north of the Arctic Circle. Around 65% of Sweden is covered in forests and the capital is Stockholm.
In Sweden, school lunches are free for all students and they usually include 1-2 different kinds of hot meals, a vegetarian meal, salad bar, fruit, bread and milk and/or water for drink. Some schools, especially kindergartens and middle schools, even serve breakfast free for the students who want to eat before school starts. And, lastly, Swedish people consume an enormous amount of coffee!
