Life in an RV
Portugal in an RV
Groceries for this week ran $10.71. I had 2 lobster tails in my freezer that I had been saving and I had gotten a jar of saffron for Christmas...thank goodness, or I'd have never brought this meal in under budget! $9.29 went into the Beach Bag which brings the total for week 15 to $101.59.
Piri Piri Lobster with Saffron Linguine (or Fettucini, in my case)
Green Cabbage Caldo Verde
Portugal is located in southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula. Portugal is the westernmost country of Europe and it borders the Atlantic Ocean to the west and south and Spain to the north and east. The Atlantic archipelagos of The Azores and Madeira are part of Portugal. Lisbon is the capital and it is also Portugal's largest city. Portugal has a typical Mediterranean climate.
Port and Medeira wines are from Portugal. The country also has an extremely well-developed fishing industry and is the highest fish consuming country in all of Europe, not to mention being fourth throughout the world.
Breakfast, in Portugal, is traditionally just coffee and a bread roll. Lunch often lasts over an hour and is generally eaten between noon-2:00 pm or 1:00 pm-3:00 pm. Dinner is generally served late, by our standards...8:00 pm or later.
This is were Bob and I learned that a bottle of wine makes a handy-dandy rolling pin and what's even better...if you're so inclined, after you're done rolling out whatever it is that you're rolling out, you can open and consume the delicious contents of that handy-dandy rolling pin. To date, we still haven't yet, but it's always a possibility!
