    Title Text.

This is week 8 and I spent $8.00 even on groceries for this meal. I had a ton of the ingredients on hand. I was able to put $12 into the Beach Bag so the total after week 8 is (drumroll, please....) $50.19!

Yeah, yeah, yeah! I know it's made in Holland, but it's Effen Vodka, ok!!

The foundation of Russian cuisine was influenced by the peasant food of the rural population. This developed in an often harsh climate, with a combination of poultry, fish, wild game, mushrooms, berries and honey. Rye, wheat, barley and millet provide the ingredients for breads, pancakes, beer and vodka. Russia had a tremendous expansion of territories during the 16th-18th centuries which brought about more refined foods and culinary techniques.
Russia is officially known as the Russian Federation. Russia shares borders with (from northwest to southeast) Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lituania and Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and North Korea. It also has maritime borders with Japan and the United States. Russia was the largest country in the world until recently, now Canada has that claim. It spans 11 time zones and has a vast variety of environments. It has the world's largest reserves of mineral and energy resources. It is considered an energy superpower. It has the world's largest forest reserves and it's lakes contain approximately one-quarter of the world's fresh water.
I distinctly remember the dread I had when it came time to make this dinner and I thought the potato salad would be extremely bland and tasteless, but, thankfully, I was wrong about that!
And, I know that, technically, the vodka was produced in Holland, but anyone who has the audacity to make a vodka and call it Effen vodka has got my respect, not to mention, it "effen" tasted fantastic as a shot!
